The mission of Lamar County School System is to ensure the development of healthy and self-reliant individuals, reaching their fullest potential and contributing to their society. We will accomplish our mission through schools which have comprehensive, challenging curricula and competent, dedicated teachers, working and learning together in a comfortable, clean, and safe environment.

Safety and discipline reports are available to the public for the school year 2006-2007.  Anyone interested in viewing information about any school's safety or discipline report can contact Scott Walker at the Lamar County Board of Education -695-7615.

The Lamar County School System recognizes that the children of Lamar County are our greatest assets.  With that fact in mind, we seek to provide these children with educational tools that will help them meet their needs in the future and help them become productive citizens in our society.

Our children arrive at school with diverse backgrounds and ability levels.  This diversity often stretches the resources of our system, but it is our mission to provide for the needs of all children who attend our schools.

Historically, Lamar County citizens have placed great importance on education.  Today, education is more important than ever and needs community commitment and support in order for our schools and county to prosper.
